The Sonas Nursing Home concept came about when two registered nurses, John Mangan and Seamus Crawley, laid out their vision for quality nursing home care for older people.

With twenty years’ experience working with the HSE behind them, Seamus and John had a clear view of the service and environment they wanted to provide. Together with Gerry Jordan, current Chairman, they formed Sonas Healthcare now known as Sonas.

The first Sonas Nursing Home opened at Cloverhill, outside Roscommon Town, in February 2001. Since then, Sonas has expanded with each new location planned, designed and built with the same principles at heart.
