Help people build careers that change lives
At Paragon Skills, we're passionate about helping people grow. We've been around since 1998; have a reputation built on trust as a top 5 training provider, rated by our apprentices, and proud to be recognised as one of the UK's Top 100 Best Places to Work!
We know that outstanding learner experiences start with outstanding colleagues. We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Personal Tutor to join our Adult Care team, supporting learners working towards Health and Social Care qualifications at Levels 2 and 3 across the South East.
If you're passionate about developing people, enjoy building meaningful relationships and want to work for an organisation where you can focus on what matters most, helping learners succeed, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
As a Personal Tutor, you'll guide learners through every stage of their apprenticeship journey, helping them build confidence, develop new skills and achieve their qualification.
- You'll manage a caseload of Adult Care learners across Levels 2 and 3
- Deliver an outstanding learner experience with purposeful, high-impact learning through engaging teaching, coaching and assessment that inspires progress
- Carry out workplace observations, reviews and learner visits
- Provide meaningful feedback that stretches and supports learner development
- Monitor learner progress and maintain accurate records using our systems
- Build trusted, long-term partnerships with care sector employers to ensure a positive learner experience
- Promote participation in our Elevate programme and workshops
- Work alongside specialist teams to support learners with additional learning needs and Functional Skills requirements
- Support learners towards successful completion and End Point Assessment
- You'll be based remotely but will regularly travel across the East Midlands for learner observations, reviews, team meetings and one-to-ones.
What makes this role different?
We know that Personal Tutors deliver their best work when they're able to focus on supporting learners. That's why we've built dedicated support teams around you.
You won't be responsible for:
- Delivering Functional Skills
- Recruiting new learners
- Enrolling learners onto programmes
- Delivering curriculum workshops
Instead, you'll work alongside experienced Functional Skills Tutors, Learning Support Teams, Development Coaches, Quality Improvement Coaches and Business Development teams who all play a part in supporting learner as a team for overall success.
That means you can spend more time doing what you do best: developing learners and helping them achieve their goals.
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from people who bring both sector expertise and a genuine passion for supporting others.
- If you are a recognised assessor with qualifications such as CAVA, TAQA, D32 or A1
- A Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care
- Experience of delivering high-quality teaching, coaching or assessment
- Experience managing a learner caseload
- Good knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessment
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for travel
It would be advantageous if you hold a teaching qualification such as AET or PTTLS; but don't worry we can provide this if not. What is most important, is that you are someone who can motivate, encourage and inspire learners to achieve more than they thought possible.
