Structural Steel MIG Welder

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate MIG welding equipment to weld structural steel components accurately and efficiently.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Perform cutting, fitting, and assembling of steel parts before welding.
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure all tools are in good working condition.
• Work collaboratively with fabrication and construction teams to meet project deadlines and quality expectations.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Document welding activities and report any issues to supervisors promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification with an emphasis on MIG welding preferred.
• Proven experience as a MIG Welder, particularly with structural steel.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols accurately.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety standards.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.
• Physical ability to perform welding tasks and work in various environments.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Familiarity with welding equipment maintenance and proper handling procedures.
