Senior Town Planner - Engineering & Environmental Consultancy - Dublin / Cork / Carlow

Experience: 5+ years' experience in town planning / consultancy

Our client is a leading Irish engineering, environmental, and planning consultancy delivering major infrastructure, renewable energy, and urban development projects across Ireland.

The Senior Town Planner is required to lead and deliver planning strategies, managing project consenting processes from concept through to application submission and post-decision support.

They will prepare and submit robust planning applications, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs), feasibility studies, and strategic planning advice across renewable energy, infrastructure, and urban projects.

Liaise directly with public and private sector clients, local authorities, An Bord Pleanála, and third-party stakeholders on complex planning matters.

Guide and oversee multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure planning strategies align with relevant statutory frameworks and client requirements.

Contribute to business development, tender submission preparation, and client relationship management across diverse development sectors.

Provide strategic planning advocacy, appeals, planning opinions, and expert witness support where required.

Requirements

Degree or Master's in Town Planning, Spatial Planning, or a related discipline

Corporate or Chartered membership of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)

5+ years of post-graduate town planning experience, ideally within a consultancy or development environment

In-depth knowledge of Irish planning processes, environmental legislation, and consenting frameworks

Proven track record of preparing complex planning applications and EIARs across renewable energy, infrastructure, or commercial developments

Strong commercial awareness, project management capability, and client communication skills

Package

Salary 65k - 80k depending on experience

22 to 27 days annual leave plus 4 company days per year
