Night Manager

Galway Bay Hotel

The Galway Bay Hotel is seeking an experienced Night Manager to join our management team.

This is a fulltime position working five nights per week. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the smooth running of the hotel during the night shift (11:00pm-7:30am) and is expected to fully own the role, ensuring all tasks, checks, and nightly walks are completed to standard.

Main Duties

  • Ensure all key hotel areas are manned and operating smoothly throughout the night.
  • Liaise with other Senior Hotel Managers in relation to hotel operations.
  • Supervise all departments during shift hours.
  • Oversee Night Porters and support them in their nightly duties.
  • Handle guest queries, complaints, and issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Provide checkin and checkout services at Reception when required.
  • Conduct regular security and fire checks and carry out fire and accident drills.
  • Attend management meetings approximately once per month.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards for yourself, colleagues, and guests.
  • Carry out the Night Audit using the Micros/Opera system, including cash balancing, printing revenue reports, and posting room charges.

Requirements

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the night operation
  • Strong IT skills
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach
  • Previous experience in a similar Night Manager role is desirable
