Digger Driver

We are currently seeking an experienced Digger Driver to join our Civil Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of infrastructure projects while operating modern plant equipment in a safety-focused environment. Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and carry out work in accordance with its requirements.
• Operate plant and machinery safely and only where the appropriate certification and tickets are held.
• Understand the legal requirements relating to the use of plant and ensure machinery is operated in compliance with these requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections and daily checks of machinery and promptly report any defects to the Plant Manager or Site Management team.
• Ensure no plant is operated where a defect may impact its safe operation.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow all site safety procedures at all times.
• Work safely alongside Banksmen and other site personnel, particularly during reversing and lifting operations.
• Check the location of underground and overhead services with the Project Manager or Site Supervision team before commencing work.
• Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and that lifting equipment is certified and fit for use where applicable.
• Report all accidents, incidents, near misses or damage, however minor, to Site Management.
• Ensure statutory inspections, examinations and certifications for machinery remain up to date.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting safer and more efficient working methods.

Requirements

• Relevant CSCS, CPCS, NPORS or equivalent 360° Excavator ticket.
• Full Driving Licence.
• Safe Pass Card.
• Previous experience operating excavators and plant machinery on construction, civil engineering or utility projects.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
