A global engineering organisation developing embedded electronics and connected IoT solutions is seeking a Senior Embedded Hardware Development Engineer to join its growing R&D team.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of next-generation platforms used worldwide. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will contribute to innovative products that combine embedded electronics, wireless connectivity, cloud technologies and emerging AI capabilities.

The Role

You will lead the design and development of embedded electronic hardware from concept through to production, collaborating closely with firmware, mechanical, software and cloud engineering teams to deliver robust, connected products for global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of embedded electronic hardware including analogue, digital and mixed-signal circuits.

  • Develop next-generation low-power sensing platforms with wireless and IoT connectivity.

  • Design reliable products for demanding industrial environments.

  • Work closely with firmware, software and cloud engineering teams to develop connected intelligent systems.

  • Evaluate and integrate wireless communication technologies including cellular, Bluetooth and LPWAN solutions.

  • Contribute to system architecture, power management and battery optimisation.

  • Support the development of predictive monitoring capabilities and intelligent connected products.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant international safety, EMC and regulatory standards.

  • Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM), reliability improvements and cost optimisation.

  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to translate technical requirements into innovative engineering solutions.

About You:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Approximately 7 years of experience designing embedded electronic hardware.

  • Strong analogue and digital circuit design experience.

  • Experience developing embedded systems using microcontrollers.

  • Knowledge of low-power and battery-powered product design.

  • Experience with communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C and UART.

  • Experience integrating wireless technologies including Cellular, Bluetooth or LoRa.

Desirable Experience

  • IoT devices and cloud-connected systems.

  • Embedded AI or edge computing technologies.

  • Firmware development using C/C++ and RTOS.

  • RF design and antenna integration.

  • Modern development tools and version control.

  • Plastic enclosure design for electronic products.
