Laboratory Technician, College Biofuels, Nobber, Co. Meath

College Group was founded in 1989 and currently operates from three state-of-the-art sites; Nobber in County Meath, Monnery in County Cavan and Newry in County Down.

College Biofuels, is a biodiesel production plant based in Nobber, Co. Meath and part of College Group. We are currently recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician in our modern analytical laboratory. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to join an enthusiastic team and contribute to Ireland's renewable energy industry in a global scheme to lower carbon emissions by converting waste into fuel.

Responsibilities

• Supporting biodiesel production plant by performing routine quality analyses according to standardised methods.
• Using the laboratory with adherence to good laboratory practices for product and raw material testing.
• Logging samples, recording results, and monitoring parameters through good documentation practises for easy access to information.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with the required regulatory standards, conforms to company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prioritising analysis relevant to production and customer requirements.
• Maintaining the laboratory and equipment to good safe working order.
• Working as part of a dynamic team to collaboratively reach project targets and milestones.
• Assisting with R+D projects to support production.
• Performs other duties relevant to the laboratory position as required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in laboratory environment.
• Qualification in analytical sciences (chemistry, pharmaceutical science, biochemistry etc) preferable.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility across shift patterns.
• Excellent communication skills and great team player.
