Your new role  

As a Junior Estimator, you will support the estimating team in the preparation of competitive tenders and cost estimates for construction projects. This role offers structured training, mentorship, and excellent career progression opportunities within a successful and growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and cost estimates.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Carry out quantity take-offs under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Source pricing information from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support the compilation and maintenance of tender documentation.
  • Assist with cost analysis and benchmarking exercises.
  • Help identify potential project risks and commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with commercial, design, and project teams throughout the tender process.
  • Maintain estimating databases and records.
  • Support post-tender queries and project handovers.

What you'll need to succeed  

  • Degree qualified, or currently completing a degree, in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 0-3 years' experience in an estimating, quantity surveying, engineering, or commercial role.
  • Previous placement, internship, or construction industry experience is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
