We are currently hiring Healthcare Assistants for leading nursing homes across Westmeath, Ireland.
This opportunity is open to EU citizens as well as candidates holding Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permissions.

This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Support nursing staff in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that meets the individual needs of residents.
- Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests, preferences, and care requirements.
- Assist residents with mobility and encourage independence while ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Support residents with personal care and hygiene needs, maintaining dignity, privacy, and respect at all times.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and communicate any changes in condition or concerns to the nursing team.
- Assist residents with eating, drinking, and maintaining physical comfort throughout the day.
- Organise and participate in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to enhance residents' quality of life.
- Foster effective communication between residents, their families, and the care team to promote positive relationships.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection prevention within the home environment.
- Contribute to health and safety practices and undertake any additional duties as required by the Nurse in Charge or management team.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Strong listening skills and a compassionate approach to understanding residents' needs and concerns.
- Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high standards of care.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative and sound judgment.
- Effective team player with the ability to collaborate positively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Positive attitude and a proactive approach to supporting residents and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic manner.
- Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Fluent in spoken and written English with the ability to communicate clearly and accurately
