EHS Officer

Location: Co. Meath

Full-Time | Permanent | Monday–Friday (Approx. 8:30am–5:00pm)

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience. Pension Contribution Scheme.

This role is fully on-site.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to join a successful and well-established organisation in the FMCG sector, based in the Co. Meath.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to foster a proactive safety culture, ensure environmental compliance, and implement best practices across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure safety protocols on the production floor are followed.
Manage compliance for machinery safety.
Promote correct use of PPE and ergonomic practices.
Lead emergency preparedness initiatives including drills and first-aid training.

Liaise with relevant environmental and safety bodies (e.g., EPA, HSA).
Implement sustainable waste reduction and recycling initiatives.
Support energy and water efficiency projects.
Ensure compliance with environmental licences and legislation.

Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections.
Support and maintain compliance with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards.
Ensure adherence to national and international regulatory requirements.

Deliver EHS inductions and ongoing training programs.
Promote behavioural safety and engagement across departments.
Collaborate cross-functionally to embed EHS into daily operations.

Requirements:

Degree in Environmental Science, EHS, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant EHS experience, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
Must have a full driver’s licence and own transport due to site location.
