The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical support to the Manufacturing and Research & Development departments. The position will drive process improvements to increase Manufacturing efficiency while further developing manufacturing activities. Ownership and development of the CAD systems.

Reporting to: Manager, Manufactring Engineering

Safe operation of Tool Room machinery/equipment including CNC Machines (Hurco, Sodick), Knee Mill, Lathe, Surface grinder and other shop hand tools.
Maintenance of Tool Room equipment and troubleshooting for carrying out repairs and organise vendors where required.
The manufacture of components as per the supplied drawings, with emphasis on machining fits and tolerances on CNC and manual machines.
Liaises with external vendors on part/material availability, tool testing and evaluation.
Maintain tooling consumables inventory.
Interact with the tooling database/tracking system and complete periodic audits of tools.
Support Design in CAD(Creo) models and generation of detailed technical drawings files associated with equipment/design.
Work with other team members in tool improvements, technical problems and equipment builds where necessary.
Provide technical support for the equipment in production, pass on knowledge to production support staff for maintenance.
Support generation of CE technical files.
Working in a tightly regulated environment regarding quality procedures and regulatory requirements in introducing products to manufacturing.
Ensure that Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in all business matters carried out on Cook’s behalf.

Bachelor’s degree is desired, preferably in engineering/science or a related field and/or relevant experience.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience
Ability to use Tool Room equipment (milling machines, lathes etc) is a necessity.
Ability to use a 3D Cad package such as Creo/Solidworks would be a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of medical device quality standards/practices or similar regulated industry.
Good communication and inter-personal skills.
Proven problem-solving skills and high self-motivation.
Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft® Office.
Excellent organisational and team building skills.
Willingness and availability to travel on company business.
