Business Development Manager - Ocean Freight

Are you a talented sales professional with a passion for hunting down new business? Do you thrive on building long term relationships with your clients? Do you have a knack for identifying new strategic sales opportunities. We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join our business selling our Ocean Freight products. You will have a proven sales track record in developing quality new business with a passion for sales within the Ocean Freight industry.

Salary: Competitive + car allowance + bonus + benefits

Location: Ireland offices: Dublin, Cork or Shannon (Hybrid) This role will involve regular travel to clients and Schenker sites as required.

What You Will Be Doing:

· Cultivate a robust pipeline of ocean business and secure new contracts in accordance with TAF agreements.

· Collaborate with the Ocean Regional Manager and Commercial Director to synchronize customer pipeline and prioritise targeted business accounts.

· Partner with tender and trade management teams to craft customised, competitive solutions for prospective clients.

· Overseeing that new business contracts are implemented to a high customer standard and collaborating effectively with key stakeholders to deliver and meet these expectations.

· Procurement efforts via Ireland Trade and Tender teams including RFQ initiatives.

About You:

· Proven sales track record of gaining new major business and successfully working to and exceeding sales targets.

· Experience of selling Ocean Freight

· Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to identify quality opportunities and to close successfully.

· Ability to prioritise, organise and manage time efficiently is essential.

· Commercial aptitude with the ability to negotiate at a high level.

· Proactive ‘hunter’ attitude

· Superb communicator and networker.
